Envelope to addressed to Miss Annie Marmion Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service Off-white linen-textured paper addressed to Miss Annie Marmion/Harpers Ferry/ West Virginia/, postmarked on the obverse Washington, DC/November 29/1:30 am/ 1901 and on the reverse Harpers Ferry/November/29/7:00am/1901/W. VA. The postage stamp is missing. Envelope is embossed on the left edge of the opening under the flap-woodward and lothrop./ Washington. Paper is stained and soiled. Deterioration has broken the paper in one dark stain on the flap. This was probably in hfd-48.

Lease for room on Shenandoah Street to Michael Doran, April 1 1866 [Verso] Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service Written in originally black ink on the first 2 pages of a single sheet of laid paper, ruled with blue horizontal lines leaving a wide top margin on the front and back pages. The sheet is folded in half to form the 4 pages hinged at the left. The lease covers the rental of one room and cellar in a Shenandoah Street building, April 1, 1866 to March 1, 1867. Paper is creased by 3 horizontal folds as well as the hinge line. Minor edge tears and breaks, upper half of the first page is discolored.

The paper is creased by 5 horizontal folds. The document is in good condition. It was received in envelope E and filed in box 1, folder 5, hfd-144. John Jr has to prove Sara Harper was his mother and she is the daughter of Joseph Harper. Cross reference to Elizabeth Jacobs deposition (hafe 216440).

The reverse contains in black ink- order/authorizing the sale of /real property at H.F./a copy. Paper is creased by several horizontal and vertical folds. Some stains.

Written in ink on laid paper lightly lined in blue. A vertical streak to right of center is composed of closely spaced light and dark lines, probably from screen.

The reverse has 3 arithmetic calculations in ink, a flowing signature ink parallel to the left edge may be -crane and breed mnfg. the document is intact, some- what yellowed and soiled on the reverse.

Inscribed in pencil-pass privates hargrove, Smith and Kaufman to town until 7 1/2 oclock/by order of/Captain E. J. Magruder. The inscription also identifies the Rome light guards and gives the date-June 14th. Paper is creased by 3 vertical folds. The left and right ends of the paper are stained, particular the reverse of the right end where the paper has broken at one point across a fold
Military pass, March 1863 Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service Slip of off-white paper ruled with blue lines, comprising a portion torn from the corner of a larger sheet and boldly inscribed in black ink, dated Harpers Ferry, VA March 15, 1863 and signed by Martin Rouzer/Capt and Provost Marshal to pass John Ditmire(?) through the lines and return. Paper has been creased by one horizontal and 3 vertical folds. The document has separated almost completely along the horizontal fold. The left and lower edges have short tears with minor losses.
