Written in originally black ink on the first 2 pages of a single sheet of laid paper, ruled with blue horizontal lines leaving a wide top margin on the front and back pages. The sheet is folded in half to form the 4 pages hinged at the left. The lease covers the rental of one room and cellar in a Shenandoah Street building, April 1, 1866 to March 1, 1867. Paper is creased by 3 horizontal folds as well as the hinge line. Minor edge tears and breaks, upper half of the first page is discolored.
