Transcription[Letter] Morris Island S.C.; September 15th 1863; Major; The details you refer to were employed on the batteries on the left, also in building a magazine for the 300 pdr. and Telegraph Station-and repairing roads leading to the batteries. I think Lieut [Lieutenant] [Miches?] asked for and obtained all details who worked on said batteries under my charge. I cannot account for my name appearing on the Generals books, connected with details of men, as I have not asked for any. Very Respectfully; Your obedient Serv't [Servant]; P.
