This collection contains approximately 180 images taken by James Hare circa 1909, largely in and around Hodgenville, Kentucky, during the centennial celebrations of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. James Hare (1856-1946) was a photojournalist with Collier’s magazine. Publisher Robert J. Collier was a founder of the Lincoln Farm Association, an organization formed to preserve the Hodgenville farm where Abraham Lincoln was born. The collection was donated to the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park by Richard Lloyd Jones, a Lincoln Farm Association member and publisher of the Tulsa Tribune.
