Short cape-type sleeves are trimmed with embroidery material extending beneath sleeve. Hair is combed straight back and below the ears. One arm is resting on arm of chair or table (?). She has ring on first finger of her right hand. Glass plate has thin gold embossed framing. It also has red lining on inside. Small brass latch on right side.

Military pass, March 1863 Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service Slip of off-white paper ruled with blue lines, comprising a portion torn from the corner of a larger sheet and boldly inscribed in black ink, dated Harpers Ferry, VA March 15, 1863 and signed by Martin Rouzer/Capt and Provost Marshal to pass John Ditmire(?) through the lines and return. Paper has been creased by one horizontal and 3 vertical folds. The document has separated almost completely along the horizontal fold. The left and lower edges have short tears with minor losses.
