The branches (limbs) were placed upstream and covered with earth and stone then anchoring the dam. The division dam is to the left of the main dam. The water from the dam is used in running the Cable Mill.

View of the race showing new spiling on both banks and one of several badly eroded spots. The water in the race washed away the toe of the upper bank, causing continuous erosion. Spiling was placed along the upper bank to prevent this.
