Letter, 1880 July 31, Thomas A. Morre (Charlestown, W.VA) Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service A sheet of off-white paper printed in black with the letterhead-county court of Jefferson County, WV. Thomas A. Moore, clerk. It contains a longhand letter in ink now brown, stating that Moore has examined the index to deeds and the judgment lien docket and found no deeds of trust given by child and Mccreight except one to A. Hunter, trustee for A.H. Herr, not released, and one to W.H. Travers, trustee for Rowland, which has been. Paper is watermarked- original/turkey linen. It has several folds.

Letter, 1892 April 30, Jas. D. Butt to Mr. Savery Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service A sheet of off-white paper lightly ruled in blue carrying the letterhead of the National Hotel with an engraved view of the building printed in black and containing a longhand note in black ink enclosing 2 deeds of the Shenandoah Pulp Co. with a request to make note of them on the abstract of title. (see cat. #3840). The lower edge is irregular, the obverse has an ink blot at the center of the top margin. The paper has horizontal folds. Lower edge has insect damage.

Letter 1890 August 13, Jas D. Butt (Harpers Ferry, VA) to Thomas H. Savery (Kennett Square, PA) Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service Typewritten on off-white laid paper and signed in black ink. It approves with comment the settling pond agreement, cat. # 8276, 8277. The paper is watermarked- regent linen w S and R. The reverse is marked in red pencil at the upper right corner, e-11. The paper is creased by 5 horizontal folds. The document is in good condition. It was received in envelope E and filed in box 1, folder 5, hfd-144. Received from James Cox Savery, rd 2, Kennett Square, PA 19348.

Record of a deed of trust from Mccreight and Yantis to Charles Davies, Receipt, August 7 1880 Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service A sheet of off-white paper ruled with blue lines and having the left margin defined by a double purple vertical line, the upper left edges are slightly rough from being cut from a longer sheet and the lower edge roughly torn, inscribed in black ink by Deputy Clerk G.D.Moore to acknowledge receipt of $2.25 to record a deed of trust from Mccreight and Yantis to Charles Davies, trustee for Robert S. Holt and attesting receipt of the deed. Small tears and pinholes, several creases.
