Water Supply Department); WS-22; Title from PDF title screen (viewed on September 28, 2009).; "December 2007."; The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD or District) Water Supply Department participated in this project to support the SFWMD Hydrologic & Environmental Systems Modeling (HESM) Department, and to help quantify the interaction between surface water and groundwater near the C-2 Canal in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The HESM Department requested field measurements along the C-2 Canal near the Southwest, Alexander Orr, and Snapper Creek wellfields to improve the calibration of the SFWMM and the NSM in Miami-Dade County. The investigation focused on trying to quantify the freshwater flow to Biscayne Bay that is being intercepted in the C-2 Canal by pumping from the Snapper Creek, Alexander Orr, and Southwest wellfields. The investigation combined data from different sources to help meet its goals: groundwater levels, surface water levels, wellfield withdrawal data, and stream gauging data.

Water Supply Department); WS-24; Title from PDF title screen (viewed on September 26, 2009); "September 2008."; Water supply plans developed for the Upper East Coast Planning Area (UEC) have identified the Floridan aquifer system (FAS) as a water supply alternative. Based on these plans, the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD or District) initiated an exploratory well construction, aquifer testing, and longterm monitoring program in the UEC. This report documents the results of the investigation at a site adjacent to the C-23 Canal in north central Martin County.
Salinity and Hydrology of Florida Bay; Status and Trends 1990–2009; STATUS AND TRENDS REPORT; SFNRC Technical Series 2012:1This report analyzes hydrologic and salinity data from the Everglades National Park (ENP) marine monitoring program, ENP Taylor Slough flow monitoring effort, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) coastal creek discharge monitoring effort, and information from several individual studies on evaporation rates. The report summarizes conditions in Florida Bay during the 2009 calendar year, discussing trends in those conditions for the available period of record for data collection efforts, focusing on 1990–2009. The report’s focus is on factors influencing salinity, recognized as the primary driver of ecological conditions in the bay.
