Close-up of car parked on gravel road Everglades National Park; National Park Service Note reads: SHARK VALLEY LOOP ROAD - Is in very poor condition due to high water levels which flood the area during the summer months. These holes and other washed-out areas along the road are presently causing an unusually rough ride for visitors on the Shark Valley Tram. Additionally, funds are needed to adequately surface this road to reduce the excessively [high] maintenance cost, and to meet standards for an enjoyable interpretive tour along this road.
