Transcription[Letter] Head Qrs [Headquarters] Engr [Engineering] Depot; Morris Island SC [South Carolina]; Sept. [September] 12th 63; Major Brooks; A. D. C.; Major; The paddles named I understood where [were?] to be done according to Lt [Lieutenant] Baldwin's drawing so supposed he would attend to same. I will see they are furnished early to Morrow [tomorrow]. I have made application for additional men in place of those taken away by Col [Colonel] Serrell. They are coming from 3 and 4th New Hampshire. The Boat will be done on Monday. Your Obed [Obedient] Serv [Servant]; F. H. Cruso Capt. [Captain]
