Butt to doctor (presumably Marmion) asking him to write Michael Tearney retaking of hay by U.S. troops. reverse contains draft of letter from N. M. to M. Tearney dated Harpers Ferry, W.VA., 25th June 1880, asking his recollection of loss of hay on "---the day of the battle of bull run." Paper watermarked "old/bershire/mills." found loose in Dr. Nicholas Marmion's day book (cat. no. 290)
