TranscriptionYELL33898-6 Folding Stokes litter with wheel as it is received by air (parachute) at scene of accident. 59-556; YELL33898-5 Litter in first step of assembly. Lashing removed from canvas cover. Litter then unfolded at hinged center and contents removed. Contents consists of: First aid and Demeral kit, splints, full length zippered sleeping bag, rations, flashlight, compass, 1 man mess kit and 8 sets of carrying harness. 59-557; YELL33898-4 Litter unfolded with contents exposed. Wheel is shown in background. Sleeping bag is fully opened to prevent further injury to the casualty when being put into litter. 59-558; YELL33898-3 Close up of litter being unfolded. 59-559; YELL33898-2 With contents removed litter is turned upside down. Pressure is exerted to bring the holes in the bottom ribs in line with bolts on wheel carriage, each side of carriage with four bolts is fastened through with wing nuts, four holes in ribs on bottom of litter. 59-560; YELL33898-1 Wheel is fastened loosely by harness snaps and light cable, to snap rings at head end of litter to insure that wheel will trail and will not swing to leading end if litter must be raised to clear obstacles. Shock cord loops are fastened from wheel yoke to ends to sides to act as shock absorbers. 59-561
