TranscriptionYELL 185327-191, 6722 Retaining wall in Gardiner Canyon threatened by flooded waters of Gardiner River. June 19, 1917. Engineers Department of War. No Negative.; YELL 185327-192, 6724 Break in road near Arnica Creek, about five miles from the Thumb towards the lake. June 23, 1917. This break was repaired by a substansial bridge by 4:00 P.M. June 24th. The temporary bridge shown in picture was thrown up in two hours to enable the inspection car to be shoved across by hand. Engineers Department of War. No Negative.; YELL 185327-193, 32 Road conditions. Mammoth to Norris. 1922. By Linkey.; YELL 185327-194, 6683 Main Gardiner Slide, 1.9 miles from Gardiner, showing narrowness of road. April 4, 1916. Upon completion of sluicing work about June 10, 1916, this road was widened about 20 feet. The entire hillside has gradually encroached, reducing road to present width of about 9 feet.
