Behind him, wearing glasses is Senator Spessard Holland (who, while Governor of Florida during the war got authorization for Everglades National Wildlife Refuge through as an interim protection measure until it could become a park). I am the one in NPS uniform. Senator George Smathers stands behind me. John Pennekamp is seated on the arm of the seat.
