Letter to Brooks from Eaton reporting the effect of their bombardment on the enemy's bombproofs in Fort Wagner.
Transcription[Letter] Camp Vol. [Volunteer] Engrs [Engineers] Detach [Detachment]; Morris Is [Isle] S. C. [South Carolina]; Nov. [November] 15th 1863; Dear Major Brooks; Yours of 13th [????] was received yesterday. I have found but one point where the [????] of the bombproofs in Wagner were at all injured by our fire. That was in the entrance at the South end of the main bombproof. The [????] entrance leading to the [????] in South east-[????] this entrance seems to have been [????] against our batteries and the Navy, and our fire to have knocked the traverse into the entrance, and forced out of the cross trenches.
