TranscriptionTuesday Night July 28th 1863; Work proposed Night; 1st. Traverse on line of Rifle Pit (on left); 2nd. Road from beach to chimney-[????] 100 pdr. Battery; Officer in Charge Lieut. [Lieutenant] Wilken and 40 men 4th N.H. [New Hampshire]; 3rd. Gun platforms in extreme left and Revetting; In charge Sergt. [Sergeant] Berry; 4th. Build Priveys; 5th. Build Lookout on top of Magazine; 6th. Cover magazine with sand bags; 7th. Begin new 200 Pdr. battery; 8th. Make platforms for 3 Coehorn Mortars; This night the two 100 pdr. batteries were laid out and partly revetted. Sergt. [Sergeant] Felter laid platforms for Wierd guns, on extreme left of parallel. The wire entanglement was set tonight.
