Transcription[Letter] Department of the South, Headquarters in the Field; Folly Island, S. C. [South Carolina], Nov. 20th 1863; Maj [Major] TB Brooks; A. D. C. andc [etc.]; Sir; You will proceed to Washington City as bearer of dispatches to the General-in-Chief, going by way of Chesapeake Bay and Baltimore. The Steamer Delaware is placed at your disposal for the purpose. You are to use all possible dispatch and return as soon as your business is accomplished and the dispatches answered.
