TranscriptionChevaux de Freize [Frise], or inclined Palisading. [Drawings, showing dimensions] Side view. Front view. Receiving Trench. View when complete. Scale 5 feet = 1 inch. Each panel weighs about 225 lbs, can be easily handled by 4 men. 6 panels make a load for one four horse team. One Engineer Soldier can make three panels per day, 200 men carried 100 panels 300 yards, dug the trench and set them in 3 hours. 75 men carried 40 panels 100 yards, dug the trench and set them in 50 minutes. 60 men carried 60 panels 50 yards, dug trench and set them in one and half hours. When made of split stuff it is much stronger to put the Bark side up, or from the enemy. [Penciled in] It was made at the Eng. Depot in parallels for [????]. The material being [????] in the south. Copied.
