Letter to Brooks from Eaton reporting the effect of their bombardment on the enemy's bombproofs in Fort Wagner.
Transcription[Letter, continued] about six inches. The entrance was completely filled, only one corner of a post showing above the [????]. This was all the exposure of [????] to either bombproof or magazine that I have discovered, and this could have been easily protected with sand bags on the outside. I suppose it's no [????] for taking [????] away, but I shall be [????] with out [????] and hope you will do [????] by giving [????] a call occasionally. I am very truly yours; S. C. Eaton
