TranscriptionThe requa on the right will fire on the enemy only during their retreat. As soon as the enemy leave the ridge the 150 infantry will leap over the parapet of the 4th parallel and gain the shelter of the ridge and occupying it from the marsh to the beach, the men with the shovels will dig pits, for the whole force just behind the crest- and then continuing their work connect the pits by a trench. The sappers will carry forward the sap as soon as the ground is gained. After nightfall an advanced picket of 30 picked men will be thrown forward to within 150 yds. [yards] of the fort on a narrow neck of land, between the marsh and the sea. The men will be withdrawn at daylight. By order of Brig. [Brigadier] Gen. [General] A. H. Terry; A. Terry Capt.
