Washington confirming Mrs. Fontaine Beckham's in the deed (see cat. #8306) conveying Virginius Island property to Lewis Wernwag. Paper is creased by 3 principal and several secondary horizontal folds, extensively broken where it has crumpled along the upper crease. Document was filed in box in folder 2 under hfd-144.

Wood case is hinged and covered with a leather-like material, embossed on front and back with floral and leaf pattern. Right side has a small brass hook. Interior has a red silky liner on the left, and the right has a dark purple velvet strip surrounding the glass, brass textured cut-out mat and image. Dates 1845 to 1860.

Man dressed in dark suit, light shirt and bow tie. He has one arm around woman's shoulders. Plate is in a black wood embossed case, with small brass latch on right side. Front portion has broken loose from binding and it has red lining on inside. Glass plate has thin, gold embossed framing over it.

Medium size, tintype of a woman in a dark, puffed long sleeved dress, with button front, trimming down bodice and dark collar with brooch in the center front. Her hair is parted in the center, pulled straight down and under, and back behind her ears. Embossed leather-like hinged wood case with brass hook on right edge. Interior has red, embossed velvet liner on left side, right side has a narrow, faded red velvet strip surrounding an ornate brass binder, tintype, curved brass cut-out mat and glass. Dates 19th century.

Confederate 20 dollar bill - printed in black on the o9bverse with orange background lineations, and in no blue on the reverse. Obverse contains an engraving of the Tennessee state capitol in the upper center and an oval engraving of A.H. Stephens in the lower right corner. The bill is dated February 17, 1864 and bears the printers' name at the lower right-keatinge and ball Columbia SC. A long tear from the right edge has a transparent tape support on the reverse. There is loss from the right edge below the upper corner, tears and punctures.
