Portrait of unknown man in profile Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Cased, small size, showing left profile of a man dressed in a dark suit coat, white shirt with stand up collar. His hair is combed back and cut collar-length. He has long sideburns. Wood case is hinged, covered in an embossed, leather-like material, small brass hook on the right. Interior has an embossed red velvet liner on the left and the right has a narrow red velvet covered strip surrounding an embossed brass binder, image, oval brass mat and glass. Dates 19th century.

Gold colored tin framing measuring 1 3/8 x 1 5/8 inches embossed with a scrolltype design. The framing has an oval-shaped cut out in the center which sets overthe tin type framing the individual.

Letter, 1880 July 31, Thomas A. Morre (Charlestown, W.VA) Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service A sheet of off-white paper printed in black with the letterhead-county court of Jefferson County, WV. Thomas A. Moore, clerk. It contains a longhand letter in ink now brown, stating that Moore has examined the index to deeds and the judgment lien docket and found no deeds of trust given by child and Mccreight except one to A. Hunter, trustee for A.H. Herr, not released, and one to W.H. Travers, trustee for Rowland, which has been. Paper is watermarked- original/turkey linen. It has several folds.

Letter, 1892 April 30, Jas. D. Butt to Mr. Savery Harpers Ferry National Historical Park; National Park Service A sheet of off-white paper lightly ruled in blue carrying the letterhead of the National Hotel with an engraved view of the building printed in black and containing a longhand note in black ink enclosing 2 deeds of the Shenandoah Pulp Co. with a request to make note of them on the abstract of title. (see cat. #3840). The lower edge is irregular, the obverse has an ink blot at the center of the top margin. The paper has horizontal folds. Lower edge has insect damage.
