Taken from same location as the two preceding pictures. Mt. Cammerer Trail, constructionGreat Smoky Mountains National ParkTaken from same location as the two preceding pictures. I took this view to show the need of shooting away a projecting rock, which is already drilled, as shown by the stick that Mr. Parsley has in the hole. It would be difficult for a pack horse to pass this place unless this projecting rock were removed. The view also shows that the wall section to be built is unnecessary.Mt. Shows men hauling rock up over a high cliff to get face work for the wall. Mt. Cammerer TrailGreat Smoky Mountains National ParkShows men hauling rock up over a high cliff to get face work for the wall. No one will ever get below this rock and see the rock as placed, and in my opinion, rock would do very well, and speed up construction.Mt. Picture taken from the same position as was used in preceding picture. Mt. Cammerer Trail, constructionGreat Smoky Mountains National ParkPicture taken from the same position as was used in preceding picture. This shows the layout, as ordered by Mr. Wilhelm and Mr. Ware. The shooting wire shows the alignment. Wall would be difficult to construct and the two curves are in my opinion, unnecessary. The toe-holes are drilled, but would require cement grout and a footer to really give good construction. The wall, top of which is showing, has required the work of 7 men for the past 3 weeks. In that time, a bench 7 feet wide could have been built and completed by now. All the scarring that will be done at this place has been done, and this should not be held as an excuse.Mt.
